Why Doesn’t She Just Leave? is the overall title for three one-day courses covering specific aspects of working with domestic violence and abuse developed specifically for Health professionals. The training features the use of professional improvisational actors with wide experience of domestic abuse work in order to bring perpetrators and victims safely ‘into the room’ to augment the learning of the staff group through ‘face to face’ interaction.

Day 1 (Why Doesn’t She Just Leave?) is a basic introduction to the issues. Course contents include:
  • nature and prevalence of abuse
  • indictors
  • perpetrator types
  • effects on victims
  • tactics used by perpetrators

Who is the training suitable for?
The training is suitable for any professional group coming into contact with perpetrators or victims and requiring foundation knowledge but whose job role does not involve extended work or contact with either group. Why Doesn’t She Just Leave? is modular in format, ensuring a close targeting to the professional needs of the specific staff group.
