Level 3: Groupwork with Victims & Survivors (1 day, Min 10, Max 16, £130.00 per person per day)
What is the training?
This one-day course considers the specifics of group work with adult and child victims and survivors of domestic violence and abuse, rather than with perpetrators. It is intended to cover the issues which must be considered in designing and delivering group work programmes with victims and survivors, whether the focus be explicitly therapeutic, on domestic violence, or on connected issues such as self esteem and parenting.

The course presents example of practice from around the country when working with children of varying ages and when working with adult women, in order to explore the potentials and challenges of undertaking this form of work. Course contents include:

  • support groups

Who is the training suitable for?
Group work with Victims & Survivors is intended for workers with experience of group work, domestic violence and abuse work, or who have previously under gone other ignition training in these subjects. It is suitable for Womens Aid workers, women's support workers alongside perpetrator programmes or any professional seeking to increase their knowledge of the field and forms a basis for developing an intervention.

The training is NOT skills focussed, but does cross over with other ignition training in group work or domestic violence and abuse, such as
