What are advanced action methods?
Building on the foundation skills established in Get Up, Stand up! - Effective Use of Role Techniques this training focuses on the use of drama-based experiential methods combined with proven psychological, therapeutic, educational and motivational approaches. The training is available in modular form, depending on the existing skills and requirements of the training group.
Who is it suitable for?
The training is suited to workers on any accredited group work programme where there is scope for analysis of index offences or previous patterns of offending behaviour, such as the Control Log offence analysis in the Integrated Domestic Abuse Programme (IDAP), or with sex offender programmes. Within accredited programmes the training is fully compliant with requirements of programme integrity and delivery integrity.
For agencies desiring to operate to a high standard of delivery but without the restrictions imposed by an accredited programme, the course opens up rich opportunities for effective and engaging experiential work with offenders.
